Few dental words cause as much worry as “root canal.” The truth is that modern root canal therapy is routine, comfortable and one of the best ways to stop tooth pain for good.

Myth: Root canals are painful

Fact: The pain comes from the infection, not the treatment. With effective anesthesia and optional sedation, the procedure feels much like a filling, and most patients feel relief right away.

Myth: Pulling the tooth is better

Fact: Keeping your natural tooth preserves your bite and bone. An extraction usually leads to an implant or bridge, which costs more and takes longer.
