How a Smile Makeover Works: Planning Your Dream Smile Step by Step
A smile makeover is not one procedure. It is a plan designed around your face, your goals and your timeline.

Medically reviewed by Dr. Ramin Khoshsar, DDS, DMD

A smile makeover is a personalized cosmetic plan that can include whitening, bonding, veneers, crowns, Invisalign®, gum contouring and implants. The goal is a smile that looks natural and fits your face, not a one-size-fits-all set of bright teeth.
Step 1: Define your goals
During your consultation we talk through what you would change. Common goals include:
- Whiter, more even color
- Straighter alignment
- Repairing chips and wear
- Replacing missing or failing teeth
- Balancing a gummy smile
Step 2: Digital smile design
Photos, video and 3D scans let us design your new smile digitally. You see a preview, and many patients try a temporary mock-up so they can feel the shape before committing.
Step 3: Phased treatment
Healthy foundations come first: cleanings, gum care and any fillings. Next, alignment or whitening, then final porcelain work. Phasing lets you spread treatment and cost over time without compromising the result.
How much does a smile makeover cost?
Because every plan is different, cost ranges widely. A whitening-and-bonding refresh is modest, while full porcelain work is a larger investment. You will receive a written plan with every fee listed, plus financing options.
